Hiya!
I can’t help but share a little about my knitting obsession because it’s such an integral part of my life. Hi I am Emma. I was born in the UK, but moved to the states when I was a little girl. I have worked in animal welfare in New Jersey for more than twenty years. I’m currently winding down and considering my options. Basically, I am mapping out what lies ahead.
In the interim, I’m exploring the vast universe of blogging. I wanted to test both my discipline and courage to put myself out there. My non-work interests include knitting, crochet, a little sewing here and there, reading, and travel. Knitting is definitely my main obsession: it’s one of my favorite hobbies, providing endless joy and relaxation.
I currently live in a small town in north western NJ with my husband. We have two dogs and four cats who are happy to be out of the shelter and living the good life.
As a little girl, I occasionally used to watch my nana knit. I thought it particularly magical that with a couple of sticks, string could become a thing. Even more curious to me was the wide variety of “things”. As an adult experiencing heartbreak, tragedy, and death regularly within my chosen profession, knitting and crochet have quite literally saved my life. A little about my knitting obsession: it has become a sanctuary for me amid life’s challenges. Simply put, knitting and crochet always make me feel happy and give me a sense of peace I haven’t found anywhere else. Sharing a little about my knitting obsession has been cathartic.
